We met up in the Cadillac Lounge and were a small group of 14. We then were taken by a CM down to the gangway and lead off the ship and handed directly over to our tour operator. We walked a short distance to another dock and boarded a small boat. We had a nice 10 minute tour of the marina and saw many yachts that we sure wouldn't mind taking a trip on. We were then dropped off and walked to the office where a truck/jeep was waiting to take us on our 45 minute drive up into the jungle. We drove through many towns on our way there and it was interesting to see how the people lived.
We arrived with wind blown hair and ready to swing from the trees. Everyone was fitted with a harness, scarf and helmet and we were given safety instructions on how we would be zip lining, crossing bridges, climbing ladders and repelling down a 90 foot rope...twice!! The repelling part was the only part I was a bit leary of but never want to seem like a wimp, so I sucked it up and did it. It of course wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was actually a bit fun. We were off and really enjoyed our zip line adventure. We were given water, chips and salsa and purchased homemade cheese quesadillas for $1 each. They were mighty tasty!!
We once again boarded our jeep/truck for the ride back to the port. This ride back was a bit more quiet and there was even some napping going on. When we arrived back at the port, we decided that we wanted to walk around the flea markets and check out the Walmart. Well, Walmart is Walmart and the flea markets are always interesting to look at but we have been to Mexico so many times that nothing jumped out and caught our eye.
We headed back to the ship for a power nap, picked the kids up and got ready for our show night in Animator's Palate.
Dinner was tasty and fun. The kids, well all of us really, enjoyed watching the walls turn from black and white to color and noticing that the waiters vests also changed from black and white to color. Before dessert was served they put on a show with all the servers and Sorcerer Mickey came out and led the servers and children around and under a limbo stick. Everyone enjoyed it and the energy level was quite high.
We finished quickly as we wanted to get good seats for Toy Story the musical. The kids enjoyed it as we knew they would.
As usual, we were exhausted after the show and thanks to our challenging excursion we went back to the cabin and hit the hay. We were greeted by our towel animal of the evening.
Next up...Day 5...Cabo San Lucas (1st day)
